Sashiko Pillow

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery and quilting art. A simple running stitch creates bold, geometric designs inspired by nature, art, and architecture. The Sashiko needlework practice has been passed down through families since the 1600’s to mend and embellish garments and home
goods for beauty and longevity. In this workshop, we will focus our “small stabs” stitching strategy on a large 18” envelope pillow. Choose from a selection of Sashiko patterns and stencils. Our workshop will allow time to discuss Sashiko’s uses past and present, layout and draw patterns, and get a good start stitching your pillow for completion at home. We’ll provide everything you need for your Sashiko embroidered heirloom. All skill levels welcome!

Requirements: Vaccination and masking are required for participation in this workshop.
