What could possibly be better than The Quilt Tree? Maybe a whole forest of Quilt Trees! Join us as we create forests of quilt trees, with maybe a few geese hanging out. This is a beautiful quilt that is made using foundation paper piecing and can be made with scraps, holiday themed fabrics or maybe even our own special kit! The journey will last 14 weeks and we will be creating up to ten blocks per week. As we plant our forest and post our photos on Instagram, The Quilt Tree will be picking a weekly winner and sending that person a prize. When our tree blocks turn into forests, we will select grand prize winners to win amazing prizes. The more participants we have, the more prizes we will offer! So invite all your quilting friends to join in!
Here's how you become a participant in the journey:
- Purchase your own copy of Geese in the Forest by Twiddletails from our Quilt Along Supply Page. - Decide on your color palette or theme. - Gather your supplies: foundation paper, scraps, fabrics, or the exclusive Quilt Tree kit. The pattern calls for 3-1/2 yards of fabric to make the trees and geese, and 4 yards of background fabric. Use these numbers to guide you when purchasing fabrics. To purchase the pattern, kit, and other supplies you might need for your journey, click here. - If you have never done foundation paper piecing, please don't worry. We have posted a two part video below to show you just how easy it is. - Make sure to follow The Quilt Tree @thequilttree on Instagram and be sure to tag all your posts with #quiltaforest so we will be sure to see them. Make your first post with this tag to let us know that you are participating. In that post, please let us know where you are from so that we can see where forests will be popping up around the world.
